hacketts preserve entrance

Originally a family farm, Hackett’s Preserve was originally called “Spring Hill farm” and was a well-known and old farm in the area owned by the Hackett family for several generations before eventually being owned by P. Clark Dunham, a local Clinton Township Committeeman in the 1960s. The final Hackett who lived on the farm his entire life, Frank Hackett, was born there in 1883 and passed away in 1966. His son, who had also grown up on the farm, fought in the Korean War and ended up moving out of state, and has since passed on. At the time of Frank’s death, he was the oldest Annandale citizen by length of residence.

With the farm previously having been a staple of the Clinton-High Bridge border, it is now preserved for walking, hiking and conservation.
