The Clinton Township Municipal Court is part of the New Jersey State Judiciary. We are an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and this State.

You may utilize the options below to either pay a ticket, request a plea offer from the
Prosecutor, enter a guilty or enter a not guilty plea.

TO PAY A SUMMONS 

  • If you received a payable summons (it will show the fine amount towards the bottom of your ticket) and you wish to pay the same, please visit njmcdirect.com. Once on the site, select traffic ticket, enter all of the requested information (including the prefix), select submit and proceed with payment.

 TO REQUEST A PLEA FROM THE PROSECUTOR

  • If you wish to request a plea offer from the prosecutor, you may visit njmcdirect.com, enter your summons information, select submit and then select the option to request a plea from the prosecutor. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NOT ALL MATTERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE ONLINE DISPUTE RESOLUTION SYSTEM. MORE SPECIFICALLY, CASES WHERE YOU MAY BE FACING CONSEQUENCES OF MAGNITUDE WHICH INCLUDE LICENSE SUSPENSION, A FINE IN EXCESS OF $750 OR INCARCERATION.

IF YOU WISH TO APPEAR VIRTUALLY OR ARE REQUIRED TO APPEAR

  • Please visit njmcdirect.com, select traffic ticket or municipal complaint, depending on the violation, enter in the information requested and select either: enter a guilty plea or not guilty plea. Once you have done so, the Court will be notified of your contact information and mail you a notice with your scheduled court date and time via USPS. You DO NOT need to contact the Court for instructions on appearing virtually upon receipt of your notice.  An email will be sent to you, at the email address you provided, the Friday before your scheduled court date.  Please be sure to check both your inbox and junk mail.

Attorneys should be entering their letter of representation and/or requesting adjournments of existing matters via the electronic document submission portal OR by faxing the same to 908-735-3731. 

Attorneys are also permitted to utilize the online municipal case resolution system to resolve their matters, without the necessity of appearing via Zoom.

The Court cannot advise you of any points associated with your summons.  You can visit the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s website to determine if there are points associated with the violation issued to you.  NJ Points Schedule (state.nj.us)
